Hypnosis - Weight Loss or Smoking Cessation

Our clinical hypnotherapist, Don Mannarino, MA, will guide participants. For either weight loss and putting an end to compulsive, impulsive and emotional overeating or smoking cessation through the relaxing influence power of positive hypnosis, it can end in the mind where the habit of smoking began.

Tai Chi and QiGong

Tai Chi and QiGong are ancient Chinese exercises that use the breath, mind, and gentle movements to create a meditation in motion which enhances overall physical health. These practices have been scientifically proven to: improve cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure, relieve chronic osteoarthritis & joint pain, increase energy (Chi), improve one’s ability to manage stress, and enhance one’s overall sense of wellbeing.
You will learn the Yang 24 Form of Tai Chi and the Eight Pieces of Brocade QiGong form from Mr. Robin Barto, a Master Martial Arts instructor with over 45 years of experience.

RESULTS - Weight Loss Program

8-Week Weight Loss program designed to educate and challenge you in the areas of health and fitness. During this program you combine basic nutritional information with the most effective workouts for your body to maximize results.
You will: attend weekly informational meetings, complete nutrition challenges and participate in small group and team training workout sessions.
All participants will need to attend a mandatory meeting to learn specific details of the program and complete a Functional Movement Screening (FMS) to assess the best exercises and movement patterns for your needs and goals to kick off the program.
8 weeks: March 13 – May 6

Beginner Ballet For Adults

Participants will acquire knowledge of basic technique and movements of classical ballet, and learn a short original choreographed contemporary ballet dance. Health Benefits to ballet: Increases flexibility, balance, posture, core strength, tones muscles and is therapeutic!

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is a class specifically designed and instructed for people who have had injuries or who have chronic conditions, weight challenges, inflexibility or have difficulty with the physical requirements of floor exercise. This class includes regular yoga poses that your instructor will adapt and modify specifically for you. The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of your body, allowing you to take full advantage of yoga’s amazing fitness and health potential.

Weight Loss with Water

Led by a Personal Trainer this program includes low-impact resistance training & cardiovascular exercise using the lap pool. This class is designed for those who are 50 pounds or more overweight looking to work in a small group environment with the goal of improving movement, strength and aerobic fitness.

Kettlebell Fitness

A 30-Minute workout. Led by a Personal Trainer, experience the sweat inducing, calorie burning, metabolic blast of a workout!  This training will use of a variety of weighted kettlebells and is geared for beginner to intermediate fitness levels.

Meditation 101 - An Introduction to Practices to Change Your Life

A 4-week series to start meditating easily and within your busy schedule. This is an interactive class with time for questions and discussion. The focus on the class is the experience of the meditative techniques rather than lecture or presentation.

Stacy and JamiePilates Reformer Training

Improve Balance, Strength, Posture and Flexibility by exercising on the Pilates Reformer. Group classes of up to six (6) participants are available. Introductory Pilates Reformer Classes are held periodically. These classes are perfect for the beginner to learn more about reformer training.

RX for Health - Physician Referred Exercise Program

This 8-Week exercise program is designed to help manage chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes & cholesterol. Participants will receive one-on-one appointments with a fitness coach, an individualized exercise program and nutritional guidance. All participants have full access to the LifeWorks facility and to over 100 complimentary group exercise classes. $249/person.

Fitness is Power, an exercise program for breast cancer survivors

Fitness is Power is a funded program to provide breast cancer survivors with a 6-month fitness plan including one on one fitness coaching, support and even an oncology massage. Candidates for this program must have received services at Southwest General. Donations are accepted any time.
