Weight Loss with Hypnosis

Our clinical hypnotherapist, Don Mannarino, MA, will guide participants in putting an end to compulsive, impulsive and emotional overeating.  With Don’s skillful guidance and the power of positive suggestion, participants will regain self-control and self-discipline, begin choosing foods that are healthful rather than harmful, and end the emotional and psychological craving for sugars, sweets and salty foods. Ballroom Dance

Learn the art of partner dance with Viva Dance Studio at LifeWorks of Southwest General this Autumn. Each week, your teacher will focus on a specific dance style from Foxtrot, to Rumba, and Swing. You will master several steps in 6 different dances allowing you to "cut-a-rug" at any social dance you attend. No experience necessary!

Healthy Back to the Mat

Back to the Mat is a one hour pilates based mat class designed to strengthen the back, abs and core muscles of the torso. Having a stronger back can decrease back pain, improve flexibility and balance. A strong back will improve your everyday life. You will have more flexibility and range of motion to do the things you need to do, and love to do, pain-free.

Tai Chi and QiGong

Tai Chi and QiGong are ancient Chinese exercises that use the breath, mind, and gentle movements to create a meditation in motion which enhances overall physical health. These practices have been scientifically proven to: improve cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure, relieve chronic osteoarthritis & joint pain, increase energy (Chi), improve one’s ability to manage stress, and enhance one’s overall sense of wellbeing.
You will learn the Yang 24 Form of Tai Chi and the Eight Pieces of Brocade QiGong form from Mr. Robin Barto, a Master Martial Arts instructor with over 45 years of experience.

This 28-day program is personalized and tailored to you by offering nutritional support, exercise recommendations, and the accountability to keep you on track. Krav Maga Self Defense

Learn the basics of Self Defense Training: Krav Maga’s ghting stance, Movement, Various Punches, Kicks from a Standing Position, Kicks from the Ground. Learn how to defend yourself against Bearhugs, Wrist Grabs, Hair Pulls, Punches, Chokes, and Headlocks. Instructed by Sarah Fox, Krav Maga Black Belt and CPT. Beginners and Experienced Welcome. RX for Health - Physician Referred Exercise Program

This 60 day exercise program is designed to help manage chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes & cholesterol. Participants will receive one-on-one appointments with a fitness coach, an individualized exercise program and nutritional guidance. All participants have full access to the LifeWorks facility and to over 100 complimentary group exercise classes.

This exercise program is physician-referred for patients scheduled to have hip or knee replacement surgery. The program offers 4 or 8 week session options.

Fitness is Power, an exercise program for breast cancer survivors

Fitness is Power is a funded program to provide breast cancer survivors with a 6-month fitness plan including one on one fitness coaching, support and even an oncology massage. Candidates for this program must have received services at Southwest General. Donations are accepted any time.
